South Bay Hardware
2026 is the sixth year in business for South Bay Hardware. Owner Diana Newton also has a sister store in Palos Verdes Estates, Lunada Bay Hardware, and another, Bay Hardware, in Seal Beach.
South Bay Hardware on Artesia Boulevard in Redondo Beach specializes in door and window screens, fixing and rebuilding them on site; re-keying locks, sharpening knives, cutting lumber, and repairing lamps.
“If a customer needs it, whatever it is, we usually can figure out how to help them out,” said Manager Marcello Minguzzi.
The nine-employee, 6,000 square foot store is open seven days per week.
Dan Funes is the general manager of South Bay Hardware and the other two area locations owned by Newton.
“We’re a typical mom-and-pop, with our excellent customer service, good assortment, knowledgeable staff and family-friendly shopping experience,” Funes said.
The store offers more than 100,000 items for sale, he added.
“If someone just wants a nail, or they want to rebuild their home, we can help with it all,” Funes said. “If we don’t have it in store, we have access to everything you need to build a home, build a building or build a city.”
South Bay Hardware’s circular logo is an adaptation of one designed by Dustin Brunjes, the owner’s brother, for the original of the four stores, Craftwood Lumber in Highland Park, Illinois.
