Help wanted
On January 5, at 6:59 p.m., a 69 year-old bicyclist was involved in a collision with a motor vehicle, at Pacific Coast Highway and Agate St. The man, a Redondo Beach resident, sustained a substantial head injury when he fell from his bike. He subsequently died from his injuries on Jan. 13 at Harbor General Hospital. Police are requesting the public’s help in locating any other people who witnessed the collision or events subsequent to the collision. Bust
According to police reports, at approximately 8:51 p.m. on Jan. 29, an officer was dispatched to the parking lot of Target at the South Bay Galleria regarding two suspicious subjects looking into vehicles. Armed with a description of the subjects and their vehicle, the officer was able to locate and detain them for investigation. During his investigation a person came out of Target and joined the other two subjects. She was included in the investigation and subsequently found to be on parole, in possession of drugs and possessed several counterfeit bills totaling almost $1,000. She was arrested without incident and booked. The Secret Service was notified of the counterfeit bills and responded.
Hollywood on Blossom
At 4:27 p.m. on Jan. 30, members of the police and fire departments responded to a residence in the 2500 block Blossom Lane regarding a report of a man with a gun bleeding from his head. As fire personnel waited nearby, officers approached the house and located a subject standing who appeared to be bleeding profusely about the head. Believing the person was armed, he was directed by officers into a safe handcuffing position and was detained without incident. The investigation revealed that the subject was producing a film for a school project. The “blood” was make-up, and the weapon seen by the reporting party was a “toy”.
