Two arrests
A couple was arrested in Redondo Beach after a search that began in Manhattan Beach on March 20, according to MBPD.
When an officer tried to talk to a man in a 1997 Chevy Tahoe on the 1800 block of 10th Street, the man ran away, police said. The man was found later as he tried to get into his girlfriend’s car in Redondo Beach. Police said that they discovered that the Chevy Tahoe, multiple cell phones, tools and other items that were in the car, were stolen. Both the man and his girlfriend were arrested.
Camera thefts
A camera and accessories worth $3,500 were stolen from an unlocked car on the 300 block of 19th Street between 6 a.m. on February 27 and 8 a.m. on March 1, police said.
In an unrelated incident, some camera equipment worth $11,000 from the 2300 block of Ocean Drive wasn’t returned after someone rented it off of Craigslist, according to MBPD.
Mirror stolen twice
A driver’s side mirror was stolen from a car for the second time in two months, police said. The theft took place on the 1000 block of Herrin Street during the night of Mar. 16 or morning of March 17.
$5 theft
Five dollars in change was taken from a locked car on the 800 block of 27th Street between 8 p.m. on March 19 and 6 a.m. on Mar. 20, police said. There was no sign of forced entry.
Second arrest
A person was arrested for the second time since since March 10, police said, after someone reported a suspicious subject on the 3100 block of Valley Drive around 5 a.m. on Mar. 17. When officers responded, they found the person with women’s jewelry they believe was stolen. The same person was arrested earlier this month for suspicion of possessing stolen bikes, according to MBPD. ER
