
Redondo Beach police have arrested a suspect in Thursday’s North Redondo Beach shooting that killed one person and injured another.
Erik Martinez, 19, was arrested Friday night in Long Beach. According to police, investigators saw Martinez in the area of Daisy Avenue and Tenth Street and, with the help of the Long Beach Police Department, apprehended Martinez. He is currently being held at the Redondo Beach Jail on $2 million bail.
Martinez is accused of a shooting two people following an altercation on Thursday in the crosswalk of the intersection of Marine and Inglewood Avenues on Thursday.

According to reports from Redondo Beach police, two people were using the crosswalk at the intersection when a physical altercation began. A third person attempted to intervene, when one of the subjects pulled a handgun and shot the other two.
Mike Cortez, 18, was killed at the scene. The second person was shot in the stomach. He was taken to Harbor General hospital, where he underwent surgery and is expected to recover.
Fabien Saucedo was among the first on the scene of the shooting, saying he heard seven gunshots fired. He left his business on Marine Avenue to survey the scene, and ran to the victims. He then saw the suspected shooter fleeing the scene.
