Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce CEO Helen Duncan was congratulated by former Manhattan Beach councilman Walt Dougher after being named the Manhattan Beach Lions Club Woman of the Year.
The award was presented last Thursday during a dinner at the Hacienda Hotel. Dougher said he was especially appreciative of Duncan because she relieved him of his duties as interim chamber president when she took the position eight years ago. Dougher noted that Duncan was particularly well qualified because she had a doctorate in psychology.
Duncan has helped the chamber more than double in size, to over 700 members, and helped launch its Women in Business and Leadership Manhattan programs. ER
