The Favorites for Winning UEFA Euro 2024
Of course, there are always favorites. And, of course, they’re the same favorites that appear every time. Why? They seem to breed some of the best talent. According to the Uefa Euro 2024 betting odds website, the favorite teams to win are:
England: England is always surprising. Surprisingly, you ask? Everyone always puts them as having a high chance of winning, yet they’ve never won. It’s the same with the World Cup, but we won’t go down that road. Still, for the Uefa Euro Germany 2024, they’re one of the teams expected to win. And to be fair to them, losing by penalties in 2020 to a team like Italy isn’t so bad. England is the champion of getting close, but not close enough. Let’s see how close they get this year.
France: France will always have a strong team. They’re the reigning World Cup champions, and it doesn’t matter what cup they’re playing for; they always seem to dominate. And this year, they have a stronger team and younger talent. They had a dominating qualifying performance and will no doubt do the same through the rest of the tournament. The best anyone can hope for that ends up with France after the round of 16 is that Mbappe has an injury.
Germany: Germany has the advantage of hosting the tournament – and we all know the difference playing at home grounds creates. And they have a new managerial regime under Nagelsmann. Germany does always do well, and that isn’t expected to change.
Spain: Spain is another team that always seems to do well during these tournaments. There are years of footballing excellence for the current squad and a recent history of dominating European competitions. Don’t forget their famous tiki-taka style; Spain aims to recapture their glory days.
Portugal: Portugal (if Ronaldo plays) could be the winner. They’re a strong team with young and old stars. And they have good leadership with Roberto MartĂnez. Their Euro 2016 triumph could be repeated in 2024.
These teams and the incredible talent they have are more likely to be in the quarter and semi-final stages of the tournament. Or, perhaps Serbia could play an uno reverse card and beat everyone.
We doubt it. You’re more likely to win the bet if you put your money on one of the favorites to win.
Favorites Players to Watch
Were you expecting to see Bellingham and MbappĂ© here? They’re further along. Keep scrolling. Instead, we first want to give you some of the players that not everyone is necessarily watching, but some of the favorites to watch when they’re on the screen.
Giorgio Scalvini (Italy): Atalanta’s young defender is getting attention for his maturity and his technical abilities. Scalvini’s versatility in defense and ability to play out from the back make him an integral part of Italy’s next generation. Euro 2024 offers a prime opportunity for him to shine.
Benjamin Sesko (Slovenia): The RB Leipzig striker is insane. Watch highlights of him in the recent UEFA Champions League match against Madrid and see some of the shots he took – Lunin (Madrid keeper) was nothing short of an impenetrable brick wall. Sesko’s remarkable goal-scoring record and ability to hold up play make him one to watch for Euro 2024.
Hugo Larsson (Sweden): Larsson is incredible at Eintracht Frankfurt. He has relentless energy and can play good tactics. His defensive ability makes him one to watch for the UEFA European Football Championship.
Milos Kerkez (Hungary): The young full-back has shown immense promise with Bournemouth. Bournemouth. And this is what we mean – he plays for a team that not everyone has their eye on – he only gets the attention he deserves when playing on a bigger stage. Still, Bournemouth are in the Premier League now, so perhaps that’ll change.
Kristjan Asllani (Albania): The Inter Milan midfielder is a key figure in Albania’s squad – and it’s a good job because the odds for Albania are low. The lowest. Still, watch an Albania game and watch him play, and we promise you won’t be disappointed. Asllani’s gameplay as a midfielder is magical.
Kenan Yildiz (Turkey): The Juventus prodigy has already shown glimpses of his immense talent. He has the technical skills and goal-scoring abilities that people with more media attention don’t have. Yildiz’s potential breakout at Euro 2024 could see him be one of the tournament’s young stars.
The players everyone’s watching
- Kylian MbappĂ©. MbappĂ© and Bellingham are all the media can talk about – so let’s join the hype. The French phenomenon redefines the boundaries of forward play and football – that’s the only way to put it. Between MbappĂ© and Bellingham, one of them has to be supernatural.
- Jude Bellingham. How could we not talk about Jude Bellingham? The rest of the world is, that’s for sure. And rightly so. He is, without a doubt, the best midfielder in the world. As the headlines say – ‘he just can’t stop scoring.’ And it’s true, he’s La Liga’s top goal-scorer with 16 goals in 24 games. Some are calling him a god. Watch him play in the Euro Championship and see for yourself.
- Jamal Musiala: Bellingham’s bestie. Musiala is a footballer with the world at his feet – and he almost won the Golden Boy award. Musiala is incredible at moving around tight spaces, creating chances, and scoring six goals in the Bundesliga this season. He’ll definitely be one to watch at the UEFA EURO 2024 in Munich – a location he’s used to playing in.
- Eduardo Camavinga: Camavinga is underrated. He’s had his random moments in the spotlight – most recently with the social media trend ‘Camao, Camao.’ Still, he’s an incredible young French prodigy. He’s amazingly versatile and plays in multiple positions at Real Madrid (part of the joke). Plus, he’s quick. He’s not Mbappe quick, but he is quick. Watch his attacking and defensive skills at the Uefa Euro Germany 2024, and you’ll be surprised.
- Pedri: Spain’s favorite. He’s an absolute machine. If you’ve watched Pedri this season for Barcelona, you’ll have witnessed the young talents’ skill. He has a vision that makes him an indispensable asset. Still, let’s not talk about how bad Barcelona is doing. His ability to control the game’s tempo and connect the midfield and attack will be vital for Spain.
