15-year-old Emma has been missing since noon Tuesday in North Redondo Beach.

The whereabouts of 15-year-old Emma Carter remain unknown more than a day-and-a-half after she wordlessly walked out of her family’s North Redondo Beach home. Her parents, Mary and Darrell Carter, are desperately trying to get the word out their daughter is missing, in hopes that somebody can provide information about where she might be — or that Emma finds her own way home.

“We just want to make sure she knows we love her,” Mary said late Wednesday night.

Emma left home at about noon Wednesday. Mary Carter said her daughter woke late and noted only that she was “a little sad” before leaving the house, in the vicinity of 182nd  St. and Inglewood Ave., without any explanation. “There was no argument, nothing like that,” Mary said.

“We are just hoping she’s at a friend’s house and never told them her Mom and Dad don’t know where’s she’s at…We hope when adults see this, they’ll realize, ‘Oh my gosh, she spent the night with my daughter last night. I didn’t know her parents didn’t know.’ We are hoping for the best.”

Her mother said she left without her cell phone or medication that she takes daily. She is 5’8, 130 pounds, with green eyes, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, and a charcoal gray long-sleeved sweater.

Anybody who has seen her or may have information regarding Emma Carter’s whereabouts is asked to call the Redondo Beach Police Department at 310-379-2477.
