Dietz Brothers Music has proved to be one of Manhattan Beach’s most beloved and successful family businesses since opening its doors more than 30 years ago. Founded by Manhattan Beach brothers and music aficionados John and Pat Dietz and their musician wives Susan and Carol, Dietz Bros provides lessons in guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, ukulele, saxophone and more. Group lessons have become popular as of late: Dietz Bros holds ukulele classes Tuesday nights and guitar classes Wednesday nights.
Erik Dietz, manager and guitar instructor, said he believes the South Bay community values Dietz Brothers’ for its quality lessons at reasonable prices and its commitment to keeping it a family business. Of the 15 instructors at the shop, Dietz noted, eight are family.
