On its website, AdventurePlex issues a note of precaution: “WARNING: There’s so much fun packed inside the 16,000 sq. ft. AdventurePlex facility that kids might not want to leave!” As the reigning titleholder for best indoor play in the South Bay, this statement does seem to be out of line. The facility, part of a Beach Cities Health District program, is a five-level play structure with sports courts, two 35-foot high rock walls and a high ropes course. It can be enjoyed in a number of capacities: general admission, summer and seasonal camps, birthday parties, team building events and classes, from dance to sports and fitness. And kids don’t get to have all the fun. AdventurePlex offers Zumba and Total Body Workout classes for adults. It even boasts a full-service cafe with freshly prepared salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps and smoothies. — EK
