Footloose, the Musical

Through Saturday, May 4. A coming of age story about a teen from Chicago who brings dance to a small Midwestern town, where dancing is illegal. The production is a fundraiser for the Mira Costa High School Drama/Tech Boosters is a group of parents and community members whose mission is to provide opportunities in both acting and technical theater through fundraising and volunteer opportunities. 6:30 p.m. Mira Costa High School, 1401 Artesia Blvd., Manhattan Beach. The Little Mermaid Jr.

The Little Mermaid Jr. is a stage musical produced by Disney Theatrical, based on the animated 1989 Disney film by Hans Christian Andersen about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find love. 7 p.m. El Segundo Performing Arts Center, 640 Main Street, El Segundo. $12 general admission. Family Nature Walk at George F Canyon 

Naturalists will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Hermosa Beach community garage sale

The annual,Community-wide garage sale encourages residents to reduce waste by allowing others to give them new homes. It also encourages residents to clear out their garages to create  space for a vehicle, reducing the demand for street parking. For this one day only, the City will waive garage sale permit fees. The City has developed a map on the City website to promote registered garage sales for that day. 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. Information, sign up and garage sale map: hermosabeach.gov.

Community wellness and resource fair

A free community wellness and resource fair to promote mental health month. Free event with workshops for all ages focused on promoting physical and mental health. Information booths.
