Unchallenged ECC incumbents reappointed to district board

Because they had no challengers on the recent November ballot, El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees incumbents Kenneth Brown, William Beverly and Mary Combs were reappointed to four year terms at the board’s December 14 meeting.

Brown represents District 1, in the northeast section of the district, with 110,000 residents. Beverly represents District 2, in the west central part of the district, with 109,000 residents. Combs represents District 4 in the southeast section of the district.

Also at the December 14 meeting, Brown was appointed board president, John Vargas was appointed vice president and Cliff Numark appointed secretary.

Beverly will serve as the district representative to the Los Angeles County Committee on School District Organization. Numark will represent the district with the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association. Vargas will serve on the El Camino Community College District Foundation Board and Combs will review nominations for membership on the California Community College Trustees Board.

District board meetings are open to the public and are generally scheduled for 4 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. For a map of the areas the trustees represent visit ElCamino.edu
