Two stabbed near Marine Avenue Park in Manhattan Beach

Two men were stabbed late at night Dec. 26 near Marine Avenue Park in Manhattan Beach.

The victims—residents of Lennox and Inglewood—were not critically injured and declined medical attention, MBPD detective Michael Rosenberger said

Around 11 p.m., the victims saw the suspect puncturing tires in the nearby parking lot, Rosenberger said. When they approached him, the suspect slashed one victim across the face and also stabbed his calf. The suspect stabbed the other victim in the shoulder.

The victims told police that the suspect “used something like an ice pick” to assault them, Rosenberger said. They reported the incident to MBPD after the suspect fled, he said.

The suspect dropped an ID as he fled, and police are currently working to determine whether it belonged to him. Rosenberger said on Tuesday that police will soon bring in the victims for a photo lineup.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 to six-feet tall weighing 160 to 175 pounds. At the scene, he wore a black jacket with a hood and black pants, Rosenberger said.
