Mira Costa cheer clinic

The Mira Costa Cheer Squad is hosting a one-day cheer clinic on Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mira Costa High School gym. Kids between first and fifth grade are invited to join the cheer team for a day of learning cheer routines, dances, basic tumbling and stunts plus arts and crafts. The participants will join the Mira Costa Cheerleaders and perform at an upcoming MCHS basketball game. Online registration is available at costacheer.com for $65 per participant. Public hearing for upcoming city budget

The Manhattan Beach City Council is holding a public hearing during the regular City Council meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. for the 2014-2015 fiscal year’s city budget. Local author event at Pages Bookstore

Lori Cedergreen, a Manhattan Beach resident and mother of two, will share from her first self-published book, Ripple, at Pages Bookstore next Thursday at 7 p.m. Ripple is a contemporary romance novel about the passion of first love, the power of forgiveness and the ripple that can spread throughout your life from one decision.
