My 10 lbs of column weight has got to go. All of this gorging and imbibing, just so I can tell my readers what’s worthy, has put me into the chubby club. Although I still fit into my signature sexy tube dress, it does not fit me. I am not cool with this.

That leaves us just 68 days until the Charlie Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament to work out and eat clean. Who doesn’t want to look good while spectating? After all, goals without deadlines are just dreams. FYI: Teams can still sign up until June 15.

Has anyone been to 24 Fitness in Hermosa lately? Okay, obviously I haven’t. I am really impressed with the brand spanking new cardio machines, especially the elliptical-majig. Also curious to try those funky Hoist weight machines which involve your entire body. These are located in the hall connecting the “fishbowl” (cardio room) to the “big boy room” (free weights). Upstairs is this industrial strength ab slider that looks like a giant “as seen on TV” product, but feels sturdy. Really fun. While you’re there, sample a Fit 150 bar made by Apex with 150 calories, 9g protein and 6g fiber. Fiber makes you skinny. Don’t ask questions.

My Fit Foods on PCH at 10th has a 21 day challenge, because it takes about that long to form a new habit. Prepackaged properly portioned food should keep you in line. Spotted some cross-fit hotties stocking up. Favorite choices are Lean Lemon Turkey and Denyse’s Killuh Chili. Entrées are offered in 3 different sizes, because not everyone wants the Hungry-Man size. Take-out only, due to zoning jabberwocky.

Delicious Discovery: 99 calorie cocktails at Fleming’s. For some reason you tend to see the chubbies ordering these, but so what? Life is cute that way. It’s called irony. Choose from this list of 6: Tickled Pink, Bikinitini, Stoli Bombshell, Farmer’s Skinny Daughter, Stiletto, or Russian Prom Queen.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I need to tell you where to get some free cupcake samples. In the words of Walt Whitman, “If I contradict myself, very well then I contradict myself.” And in the words of our earth mother Oprah Winfrey, “You have the right to change your mind.” Frosted Cupcakery usually offers samples on the first of each month, says Casey. That would be next Friday, June 1. Mark your calendars.

Fresh Band: video release party for “This Is Who I Am” by Fallen Riviera at Saint Rocke Thursday, May 24 9 p.m.

Untapped Resource: EC Twins at American Junkie Sunday, May 27. Overwhelming number of hot chicks predicted to be in attendance, again.

Dating Tip 5: Live with integrity. Let your words match your actions. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Integrity is the sexiest quality of all. Not only because it’s rare here in the South Bay, but also because it’s a sign of the ultimate aphrodisiac—confidence. Mmm.

My Favorite Thing Week #17: All Hail Kale Salad at Veggie Grill in Plaza El Segundo. Has marinated kale and red cabbage, quinoa, corn salsa, and agave-roasted walnuts with ginger-papaya vinaigrette. This rainbow tower of vegetables makes me picture a very colorful Chichen Itza. It just does.

Bartender of the Week: Kristin Brown at Fleming’s. This hottie with the Pilates body is known for surprising folks with a Washington Apple shot. She seamlessly serves a really elegant and beautiful drink every time. Such as the Pomtini, Pineapple Spice Martini, Mad Milagro Margarita, or French Tart. Attention to detail is an understatement. What makes the best bartender? “Personality — because you can learn anything, but you can’t learn a personality.”
