BeachSports Surf and Beach camps

BeachSports Surf & Beach Camps were created in 1995 by LA County Lifeguards to provide beach and ocean safety education to local and visiting boys and girls. Beach Sports programs include surfing, boogie boarding, beach volleyball and junior lifeguard skills.  Five camps are offered: Surf Camp, Beach Camp, Beach Volleyball Camp, John Featherstone’s 12-day Volleyball Clinic and the Junior Lifeguard Ocean Safety Program. Hermosa Beach Chevron Surf Camp

Ocean safety, basic surfing techniques and tricks, like the switch-foot. Classes have a 1:6 or less teacher to student ratio and plenty of one-on-one attention. Classes offered are 1-1/2 hours, 3 hours and 7 hours. Soft surfboards are provided and all students receive a T-shirt, Lycra surf shirt and photos. There is always a L.A. County Lifeguard and California credentialed teacher on duty. Students guaranteed to ride a wave.

Hermosa Beach Friendship Circle Surf Camp

Surf camp for children and adults with special needs. Learn ocean safety, basic surf techniques  and tricks. Ages 7 and up. 2:1 teacher-to student ratio. There will be a teen volunteer paired with each student. BZ soft surfboards provided. All students receive a T-shirt, lycra surf shirt and three photos of themselves. Children must be able to swim. Perfect Day Surf Camp

Quiksilver/Roxy-sponsored Perfect Day Surf Camp has beach locations in Torrance, Redondo, Manhattan, Dockweiler, Marina Del Rey & Santa Monica. PCH Skate

Learn to skateboard or take your skills to the next level.  Beginner to intermediate level. Safety instruction and instruction on basic ollies, kick turns, flip tricks, grinds, vert skating and more.  A variety of ramps, rails and fun boxes, which are positioned differently each day to offer a variety of trick options. Camp activities include team games and obstacle courses.  All campers are required to wear full pads. Tarsan Stand-up Paddleboard Camp

SUP Camp is for kids all ages (ideally 10 and up). Monday-Friday  mornings from 9 a.m. to noon and in the afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. July-August. Kids must know how to swim. $299/child per week. 10 percent off for additional siblings (same week only).  $275/child per week if parent is a Preferred Member. $250/child per week if parent is a VIP Black Card Member. Tarsan Stand-up Paddleboards’ new location allows for marina dock access and beach access. Instructors are CPR and First Aid certified. Don’t Just Surf  personal instruction

DJS provides instruction for water sports including surfing, stand-up paddling, fishing, sailing and kiteboarding. Coaching for all ages and skill levels. Owner Dave Schaefer is a born and raised local waterman, licensed Coast Guard captain, former Paramedic and firefighter Fireman, and Commercial Fisherman in Alaska and the Northwest and a lifelong competitive surer. PV Surf Camp

PV Surf teaches ocean safety, surfing , surf etiquette and appreciation for the power and beauty of the ocean.
