Seabass will not shred the snowy streets of Hermosa Beach this year.

Snow will not fall on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach this year.
Spyder Surf notified city officials Friday morning that its efforts to organize its 3rd annual Snow Fest have fallen short financially and that the Hermosa-based company would focus efforts on hosting the event next year:

“Thank you for being such a great partner with us once again this year in our efforts to put together our 3rd annual Snow Fest.

Unfortunately it is with a heavy heart and after much thought, we’ve concluded today that in order to properly and safely host this event on the beach we need both more time and much more financing to make the even successful, therefore it is not within our grasp and/or the time line appointed to pull this community event off for the year 2012.

It’s been a rough few months for us as we’ve tried to pull everything together but we’ve learned a ton (from you) and feel very confident that by postponing until next year we’ll end up with a bigger, better, safer and more successful Snow Fest.

We are going to take the momentum we have started NOW, and place that energy into next year’s event. We were hit with how late in the year it is and sponsorship has run dry from some of the bigger vendors. Thus, we are now on the radar of those sponsors for next year and hope that we can count on the same enthusiasm we received
from you this year, next year!

Once again, thank you sincerely for all the help and time that each of you has given to us. As retailers on the plaza we will deeply miss this event this year and really do feel it’s a huge part of making sure every business down there has a healthy holiday season.

We hope we can count on you again next year for the same support. We’ve got great momentum right now that we plan on carrying thru for December 2013 and a tighter event.

Thank
you once again-

Dennis, Dickie and Jani”
