With summer just around the corner and the school year coming to an end, the upcoming 3 months of free time is an opportunity for the creation of life-long memories. Put the game controllers and keyboards down, and relish in the sun (with sunscreen of course), surf, and sand by attending one of the listed surf camps and classes.

Campsurf is “Los Angeles’ PremierSurfSchool”, according the LA Business Journal, offering surf instruction in Manhattan Beach for all ages and abilities.  We offer Private & Group Lessons, Summer Surf Camps, After School Programs, Birthday Parties, Corporate Events and much more.  Instruction is available year round and we maintain a 1:4 instructor to surfer ratio in all our lessons and camps.  Surfboards and wetsuits are provided.  We also offer youth and adult Volleyball Classes and Clinics through our CampVolley programs.

BeachSports Surf & Beach Camps were created in 1995 by LA County Lifeguards to provide beach and ocean safety education to local and visiting boys and girls.  Beach Sports programs include instruction in Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Beach Volleyball and Junior Lifeguard skills. Participants will leave camp with the ability to safely and confidently enjoy the beach and ocean.  We offer 5 camps including: Surf Camp, Beach Camp, Beach Volleyball Camp, John Featherstone’s 12-day Volleyball Clinic and a Junior Lifeguard Program.  With safety in mind our camps are located at these LifeguardTower locations: Manhattan Beach, 14th St., Hermosa Beach, 15th St., Redondo Beach, Ave. I, and Redondo Beach, Vista del Mar.

PCH Skate Camp

Learn to skateboard or take your skills to the next level with our PCH Skate Camps!  We provide beginner to intermediate level skate and safety instruction focusing on basic ollies and kick turns to flip tricks, grinds and much more.  We have a variety of ramps, rails and fun boxes, which we position differently each day to offer a variety of trick options.  Camp activities include team games, SKATE and obstacle courses.  Safety is our number one priority so all campers are required to wear full pads.  Private skate instruction is also available at our Manhattan Beach and Rolling Hills Estates locations.  Learn more and register online at PCHSkateCamps.com. Office: 310.372.2202

PV Surf

The team at P.V. Surf recognizes the importance of leading active and healthy lives. Our goal is to teach ocean safety, surfing technique, surfing etiquette and an appreciation for the power and beauty of the ocean.

All camp sessions are led by knowledgeable and experienced instructors (ratio is 4:1). The instructors have very strong water skills, multiple years of surfing experience, and are trained in CPR.  The staff’s first priority is incorporating ocean safety, while teaching the participants to surf in a fun environment.

Weekly camp sessions are offered for kids ages 6-15, beginning on June 10th-August 19th.  Participants can choose either a morning or afternoon session.

Hermosa Beach Chevron Surf Camp

The Hermosa Beach Chevron Surf Camp Surf Camp celebrates 22 years! You will learn about ocean safety, basic surf techniques, tricks, equipment and the beach environment. Surf classes have a 1:6 teacher to student ratio for safety and a lot of one-on-one attention. BZ soft surfboards are provided and all students receive at -shirt, lycra surf shirt and three photos. You must be an intermediate swimmer. There is always an instructor on duty that is a lifeguard and a California Certified Teacher. You are guaranteed to ride a wave your first lesson!

Hermosa Beach Friendship Circle Surf Camp

A Surf camp for children and adults with special needs. You will learn about ocean safety, basic surf techniques, tricks, equipment, and the beach environment. Ages 7+. Surf classes have a 2:1 teacher-to student ratio for safety and a lot of one-on-one attention. There will be a teen volunteer paired with each student for socialization and extra safety. BZ soft surfboard provided.

All students receive a T-shirt, lycra surf shirt and three photos of themselves. You must be a swimmer to participate. There is always an instructor on duty that is a Lifeguard and California Certificated Teacher. Start date August 12.

Fee: $169./$159. resident discount. On site we will have professionals qualified to assist any and all children/ young adults with special needs.

Perfect Day Surf Camp

Perfect Day Surf Camp, presented by Quiksilver/Roxy, offers surf/beach camps for ages 3-17.  Our 7-17 year olds surf and boogie board most of the time and play volleyball, dodge-ball and beach sports. 5:1 ratio and 1:1 for anyone that needs it to start. Our 3-7 year olds will have a more structured camp with fun learning activities to teach how to respect our ocean and be safe.  We also teach surfing and boogie boarding with 1:1 instruction.  Locations are Santa Monica, Redondo, Torrance and Manhattan.Flexible schedule, so you can spread your days over the summer.  Equipment and wetsuits provided.

Soul Performance surf lessons revolve around a holistic approach. Beginning Surf Lessons

Surfers will spend a week in small peer groups that are age and skill appropriate. Essential skills include balance training, paddling, the “pop-up”, oceanography and catching waves. Dedicated counselors and a low staff/student ratio, ensure safety and allows for individual instruction.

Hang out with a local pro at the Hermosa
Beach Skatepark! You will learn about safety,
the best equipment and safe places to skate.
Practice turning, slides, kick turns, kick
flips, grinds,wheelies and other tricks. Students
supply their own skateboard, helmet, knee and
elbow pads.
The class is held M-F during the summer
and on the weekends the rest of the year.

Two different age groups- 4 to 7 or 7+.
