Bob Saggat: Though many of us remember Bob as the cheesy host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and the maudlin dad on “Full House” who was always ready to deliver life advice to his kids over a melodramatic score, Bob’s stand-up is far from family-friendly. Sex, drugs and general poor taste are Saggat’s specialties at the mic. His show is not for the faint of heart, but those with a thick skin and a love of the risqué are promised a night of great fun and big laughs. Roses and Cigarettes: Don’t let the hardcore name trick you: Roses and Cigarettes is a sweet, acoustic duo of two beauties named Angela Petrilli and Jenny Pagliaro. The ladies perform a variety of originals and covers, with Pagliaro providing lead vocals and Petrilli playing guitar and singing backup. Pagliaro’s voice is rich and powerful, and lends itself well to the Fleetwood Mac and Marc Broussard covers the band favors. Appropriately, the duo also covers soulful Ray LaMontagne songs; the band named themselves after one of his tunes. The Hermosa Saloon, 211 Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach. Rick Reilly: Rick Reily is best known as an ESPN sportswriter with a sense of humor as caustic and smart as most comedians around. His most recent book, “Tiger, Meet my Sister…and Other Things I Probably Shouldn’t Have Said,” compiles his best columns from his five years with ESPN. He gives plenty of jabs at players, like the title’s philandering Tiger Woods whom he asks “Sometimes you wonder where Tiger Woods gets his public-relations advice. Steamboat Bill, Jr.: Modern audiences may be familiar with this Buster Keaton film for its inspiring the title of Walt Disney’s “Steamboat Willie” which marked the debut of Mickey Mouse. In this 1928 silent film, Keaton is at the top of his game as a comedic talent and brave stuntman. Though the film received mix reviews upon its release, over the years “Steamboat Bill, Jr.” has become regarded as a masterpiece of its era. The weekend screenings at the Old Town Music Hall, a treasure itself, will be accompanied by theater owner Bill Field on the Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ. Every show begins with music played on the pipe organ, an audience sing along and a comedy short.The Old Town Music Hall, 140 Richmond St. in El Segundo. Yarn Bombing L.A. brings their show to Manhattan Beach.

Yarn Bombing LA: Yarn bombing is is a type of street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn rather than paint or chalk. Yarn Bombing Los Angeles (YBLA) is a group of guerrilla knitters who have been collaborating since 2010 to stage public installations and performances to help expand the definition of public art to include self initiated, temporal urban interventions. YBLA brings their exhibit “surroundings” to Manhattan Beach May 23 through June 26 to showcase this postmodern approach to urban graffiti. Spazmatics: Those wanting to relive the greatness and horror that was 80’s music will delight in a performance by the Spazmatics. The band embodies all of the awesome sounds, styles and way cool dance steps from the 1980′s decade we’d love to forget. Complete with skinny ties, Brill Creamed hair, and horn-rimmed glasses, the Spazmatics recapture all the best of the worst. Outstanding musicianship combined with creative flair and style makes for an evening of pure energy and entertainment. Kids Artistic Revue Dance Show: Dubbed “America’s Favorite Dance Competition” Kids Artistic Revue comes to Redondo Beach this weekend as part of their regional tour. With television shows like “America’s Got Talent,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” dance shows are seeing popularity that hasn’t been known in pop culture since the days of “Star Search.” The show will feature groups of youngsters tearing up the stage with jazz and hip hop numbers and delighting audiences of all ages. Wayward Sons: Fiesta Hermosa takes over the Hermosa Pier this weekend with arts and crafts, eclectic food and live music. Wayward Sons perform Monday, bringing back power ballads of the eighties. The performance is a nostalgia-fueled, power-chord packed rock show featuring the greatest songs of the 1980s including hits from Journey, Queen, Styx, Bon Jovi, Foreigner and Van Halen. The members of Wayward Sons not only perform like it’s 1985, they live like it. Each has their own throw-back persona and they stay true to their character the whole performance.
