Mustang Down

Learn about Gertrude Tompkins who, on October 26, 1944, climbed into her P-51 Mustang and took off from Mines Field (now part of LAX). She was never heard from again. Of the 38 Women’s Airforce Service Pilots killed during World War II, she is the only one still missing. Admission to Museum $5.
