“Hamlet”: Shakespeare by the Sea opens the second of its two summer plays (“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” opened last week), in repertory through July 5 at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro, after which all the props and actors will be loaded on carts for their annual tour through the region, stopping in most of our beach cities. “The Difficulty of Crossing a Field”: David Lang’s Opera/play/musical, with a libretto by Mac Wellman, is being reprised by Long Beach Opera in the Terrace Theater, 300 E.
