The El Segundo Art Walk, now in its third year, goes from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, with over 40 artists in 35 venues throughout downtown and the Smoky Hollow neighborhood. Maps available at venues: 305 Richmond is the headquarters. Food trucks, DJ trucks. More at elsegundoartwalk.com

Shakespeare by the Sea celebrates its 20th anniversary with a production of “The Taming of the Shrew,” at 8 p.m. in Point Fermin Park, 807 Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro. Also Saturday and Sunday, then June 29, July 1 and 7, before going on the road… which will include stops in Hermosa Beach (July 13), Torrance (July 29), and Manhattan Beach (August 12). Out in the cornfields

“Oklahoma!” is in town for two weekends and seven shows at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Redondo Beach. Presented by 3D Theatricals, it’s a classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. The 42nd Annual Ragtime Festival takes place on Saturday at 2:30 and 8:15 p.m., plus Sunday at 2:30 p.m., in the Old Town Music Hall, 140 Richmond St., El Segundo. “Frida,” an opera composed by Roberto Xavier Rodriguez, is based on the life and art of Frida Kahlo, and performances are taking place Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. (also June 24 and 25) at MoLAA (the Museum of Latin American Art), 628 Alamitos Ave., Long Beach. The 8 p.m. June 23 performance takes place at Grand Performances, downtown L.A. It stars Laura Virella in the title role. Tickets, $49 to $150.
