The City of Rolling Hills has hired a new city manager by way of the City of Carson. Last week Rolling Hills City Council appointed Raymond Cruz, the community services director of Carson.

Former Hermosa Beach city manager Steve Burrell had been serving as interim city manager since May when Tony Dahlerbruch took over city manager duties in Palos Verdes Estates. An employment agreement posted on-line indicates Cruz will earn $165,000 per year in addition to a $60 monthly reimbursement for work-related expenses.

Cruz has a bachelor’s degree in political science from UC Riverside, a master’s in public administration from USC and has worked in city government for the past 20 years. He begins Nov 18.
