Manhattan Beach police say a Redondo Beach man arrested Sunday is responsible for stealing a number of bicycles from open garages throughout the city and are seeking additional victims.

Brian Bond, 46, of Redondo Beach was arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property and grand theft, according to police.

On Sunday at 5 p.m., a resident contacted the Redondo Beach Police Department after purchasing a stolen bicycle. Using information provided by the victim, RBPD officers located the suspect, who was on a felony probation.

During a probation search, Redondo Beach police detectives found 11 stolen bicycles at Bond’s home, along with other items showing evidence of identity theft. Due to the familiar nature of his crimes, Manhattan Beach detectives conducted a subsequent interview and linked him to residential burglaries involving bicycles stolen from open and unlocked garages.

Any Manhattan Beach resident who has been a victim of bicycle theft from a garage is urged to contact MBPD Det. Shawn Thompson at 310-802-5124.
