A paddle-out will be held Friday, June 27 for Steve Morrow.

Retired Coast Guard Petty Officer Steve Allen Morrow Jr., of Hermosa Beach, will be remembered on the sand and with a paddle-out at 26th Street in Hermosa Beach on Friday, June 27 at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at North End.

Morrow passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 22 at his home at age 34. His death is believed to have been related to recent surgery.

Morrow was known for his quick wit, endearing smile, love of life, and pursuit of knowledge, He was born  October 10, 1980 to Steve Allen and Donna Renee Morrow in Lumberton, North Carolina. As a child he traveled the country with his family, surfing, fishing and snowboarding. His father was a U.S. Air Force MSgt. After graduating from Foley High School in 1999 he served in the Coast Guard for 13 years, before being medically retired. Throughout his military career he touched many lives, traveling from Hawaii to the east coast and countless places in between.

Morrow was a true Renaissance Man. He didn’t dabble, instead preferring to dive head first into every topic that piqued his interest. Cooking, surfing, hunting, guns and his his cats are a few topics that frequently appeared on the “Steve Show”.

Morrow is survived by his wife Lisa; daughter Stevie; step daughter Lori; parents Steve and Donna and bonus-mom Terri Jean; sister Amber (Kevin) and brother Joey; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless friends. ER
