Manhattan Beach police on Thursday arrested two women and a 17-year-old juvenile suspected of robbing a Manhattan Beach resident at gunpoint in her own garage, according to police.

At 9:50 p.m. Thursday, MBPD responded to the 3100 block of Manhattan Avenue regarding an armed robbery. The female victim stated that while seated in her car in the garage, two suspects approached her and demanded her property. The male suspect was armed with a handgun, she told police. The victim handed over her property to the suspects, including her purse and cell phone.

Officers were able to locate the victim’s cell phone using tracking software and observed a car traveling east on Rosecrans Avenue with two subjects inside matching the suspect descriptions. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver led the officers on a low speed chase into the City of Hawthorne, according to police.

When pursuing officers eventually stopped the car, police arrested three suspects: Faily Chavez, 19, of Los Angeles; Sharhonda Cerise Tyler, 24, of San Pedro, and a 17-year-old male juvenile of Hawthorne.

A black semi-automatic replica BB-gun and all of the victim’s property was recovered out of the car, according to police.

Anyone who has seen these suspects in the area or fell victim to a similar crime on this day is urged to call the MBPD Watch Commander at 310-802-5170.
