A Los Angeles man with an outstanding felony warrant was arrested in Manhattan Beach Wednesday afternoon, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

An officer initially made contact with Wiley Venoy Robinson, 33, during a traffic stop just before 2 p.m. on the 400 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard. Robinson fled on foot and entered a nearby residential area, according to police.

With assistance from Hermosa Beach, El Segundo, Hawthorne and Redondo Beach police, MBPD set up a perimeter and conducted a yard-to-yard search. Police found Robinson via its K-9 Team in the backyard of a home in the 600 block of 11th Street. Robinson then fled and was arrested on the rooftop of a home in the 600 block of 9th Street, according to police.

He was booked for two additional outstanding warrants — assault with a deadly weapon and driving on a suspended license — and for “resisting arrest through threats or violence and obstructing/delaying an officer,” according to police.

He is being held under the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. His bail is set at $211,000, according to police.
