Belasco Theatre Company

Hermosa Beach Community Theater

The Belasco Theatre Company youth musical theatre has been training children from all over the South Bay for 10 years. Ages 5-18 participate in a variety of classes, workshops and programs to teach musical theatre performance. Summer camp for ages 6-11, featuring songs and dances from the Broadway musical “Annie.”  Students will receive training in dance, vocals and acting, culminating in a performance on the last day. Manhattan REC Summer Camp

REC Summer Camp is for children ages 5-1/2 to 12, incorporating education and fun. The safe,   and wholesome environment allows young people to grow as individuals while interacting as a group. Children are encouraged to participate in all scheduled activities. However, if they choose not to, alternate activities are available. Every Thursday there will be an optional field trip. The 2014 Teen Center Summer Camp is a drop-in, non-custodial program open to resident and nonresident 6th, 7th and 8th graders. 31st Annual Fishing Derby

Families are invited to spend the morning at the Polliwog Park Pond. Kids may even catch their first fish as part of the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation event. Kids 5 and under, 6 to 7, 8 to 9 and 10 to 12 can compete for prizes in three categories: most fish caught, longest fish caught and most interesting fish caught. Bike and Skateboard Safety Expo

For the 14th year, Manhattan Beach’s Parks and Recreation and Police Departments are presenting a bike and skateboard safety expo at the Manhattan Heights Park from noon to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will feature stunt shows by BMX Team Soil and the Skatedogs. A temporary skate park will grace the grounds for young skateboarders, as well as a police department bike safety clinic. Mini contests will give out prizes; food and giveaways will be provided.
