Annual Vette Set Car Show
Come show off your Corvette or Classic at Ruby’s Diner, Redondo Beach/King Harbor. There are Corvette Classes for each generation and for Stock and Modified. Classic Chevys will be judged on their “cool factor”. All years, Stock or Modified will be in one class. There will be 15 trophies for the Classic Chevys and 24 trophies for Corvettes. Each trophy is hand crafted and represents the Southern California Beach scene. Judging begins at 10 a.m. and awards given by 3 p.m. There will be a DJ, Goodie Bags, silent auction, opportunity drawings, dash plaques, and a Kids Grab Bag. The program includes Ravel’s “Piano Trio in A Minor” and Mozart’s “Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor” (with guest violist Michelle Gasworth). Mira Costa High School’s Drama Department seniors take the reins for “Senior Scenes” at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. The series of 15-minute scenes gives these spoiled little – I mean these wonderful young men and women a chance to work together as actors, singers, dancers, directors, tech people, etc., and produce a show entirely on their own. Admission, $5.
