Hermosa Beach is seeking a new public works director. Public Works Director Frank Senteno left the city last week, after accepting the position of public works director for the city of El Monte.

City Manager Tom Bakaly said that his assistant Diane Strickfaden will oversee public works while the city looks for an interim director. He said an interim should be named within the next few weeks. The city hopes to find a permanent replacement in November or December.

Bakaly said that the city has many big projects on the horizon, including replacing its sewers and improvements to Pacific Coast Highway and Aviation Boulevard.

“We’re looking for someone who can help lead as the city updates its infrastructure,” Bakaly said.

Applicants for the director of public works position should email Monica Bagnara, human resources assistant for Hermosa Beach, at mbagnara@hermosabch.org.
