While the Herrmosa Beach City School District has been working to solve its overcrowding issue, a group of local moms wants to make sure that the kids going to those schools have the supplies they need.

The MOMS Club of Hermosa Beach will be collecting school supplies for students at Hermosa Valley School on Wednesday at Fort Lots-O-Fun from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Donors can also arrange for the group to come pick up school supplies now until Sept.2 by emailing hbmoms@yahoo.com.

“I’m a former teacher, so I know how important it is to have the supplies to make your classroom successful,” Melissa McAtee, president of the MOMS Club, said.

For more information on the group, visit the MOMS Club of Hermosa Beach on meetup.com. Members can participate in play dates, moms’ night out and community fundraisers. Membership is open to all local moms and annual dues are $40.
