This year’s juror is Max Presneill, MFA, an LA-based artist and Curator/Director of Torrance Art Museum as well as Curatorial Director of ARTA Curatorial. He has exhibited throughout the world and organized exhibitions for museums and galleries in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, China, Mexico, Turkey, Australia and more.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         “As is the case with juried shows, it was a difficult process to select from the submissions. There was a wide diversity to consider. In trying  to establish a dynamic visual relationship between the selections I have attempted to reflect different thematic approaches and styles while keeping an honest mirror to the region’s art. It is a personal response, of course, and should be taken as such.

Congrats to those that were successful and to those who were not – try again next year as this was my pick and someone else will bring another aesthetic to the task. But remember to come and show your support regardless, as next year it might be you. These local juried exhibitions are a wonderful chance to see what is being made in the region – to discover new favorites and catch up with old friends.”

– Max Presneill
