Amy Silverstein, author of My Glory Was I Had Such Friendsvisits {pages} on July 24 at 7pm.

Amy Silverstein has written a story of courage, perseverance, and friendship unlike any other. Amy’s transplanted heart—received when she was 25—beat strong for a remarkable 26 years, far longer than its ten-year if-you’re-lucky prognosis. Then, her steadfast donor heart plummeted into failure. If she wanted to live, she had to take on the grueling quest for a new heart across the country in California—immediately. When her friends heard of her plans, there was only one reaction: “I’m there.”

In My Glory Was I Had Such Friends: A Memoir, Amy tells the story of the nine friends – Joy, Jill, Leja, Jody, Lauren, Robin, Valerie, Ann, and Jane—who dropped everything to fly across the country and be by Amy’s bedside at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in CA.

The memoir has been acquired by J.J. Abrams tor develop for limited series on TV.
