Love Drives 5th Jester Benefit Tennis Tournament and Soiree

at

Alta Vista Park in Redondo Beach

July 21st and 22nd

Join The Jester & Pharley Phund’s 5th Annual Doubles Tennis Tournament kick-off Friday July 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Alta Vista Park’s Community Room in Redondo Beach. The kick-off Taste of the South Bay Soiree will feature popular guitarist Mark Fitchett, small plates from favorite South Bay restaurants and a silent auction.

On Saturday July 22nd, the all-day round-robin doubles competition will begin at Alta Vista Park tennis courts at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the soiree and tournament will provide copies of David Saltzman’s “The Jester Has Lost His Jingle” book and Jester & Pharley Dolls to children with cancer. Last year, young patients at Harbor UCLA Medical Center found their smiles in the donation of 150 “Jester” books and 150 Jester dolls from tournament proceeds.

Proceeds from the Soiree and round-robin doubles tournament will benefit children with cancer treated at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Last year, donations of 150 “Jester Has Lost His Jingle” books and 150 Jester & Pharley Dolls from tournament proceeds brought smiles and laughter to young patients. “The Jester” was written and illustrated by South Bay resident David Saltzman as his senior project at Yale before his death from cancer in 1990. His wish was that his uplifting, whimsical book be shared with children with cancer.Entry forms may be printed out from www.thejester.org.  Reservations for the soiree may be made at 310-544-4733.
