Congressman Ted W. Lieu’s (CA-33) Congressional Art Competition

The Congressional Art Competition is a national competition that recognizes and encourages artistic talent in high school students (9th through 12th grade).  Students submit their original art piece to their representative and a panel of art professionals selects the winning entry.  Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington D.C.  The winning works are displayed for one year in the U. S. Capitol. More details about the competition can be found here: http://www.house.gov/content/educate/art_competition/

The submission deadline is Friday, April 6, 2018 at 5:00 pm.  Each student is permitted one entry. Entries must be submitted with a completed copy of the 2018 Student Information and Release Form.

Your entry must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be two dimensional
  • Must be no larger than 26 inches by 26 inches by 4 inches
  • Must not weigh more than 15 pounds, including frame
  • Must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws
  • Art pieces are NOT required to be framed for judging

You may submit your entry to either one of my district offices:

5055 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 310

Los Angeles, 90036

or

1600 Rosecrans Ave, 4th Floor

Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Please contact Aurelia Friedman in my office at aurelia.friedman@mail.house.gov or (323) 651-1040 with any questions.
