NOTICE INVITING BIDS

CIP PROJECT NO.13-127STREET IMPROVEMENTS – VARIOUS LOCATIONS

 Notice is hereby given that the City of Hermosa Beach will receive sealed bids at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 1315 Valley Dr., Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April8, 2014 for:

CIP PROJECT NO.13-127STREET IMPROVEMENTS – VARIOUS LOCATIONS

 ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE:    TBD

All bids must be submitted in writing, on standard forms available in the Public Works Department at the above address.  All bids must be sealed and must be plainly marked in the lower left-hand corner “CIP PROJECT NO.  13-127STREET IMPROVEMENTS – VARIOUS LOCATIONS.

The contractor shall at the time of award possess a valid State of California Contractors License Class A.

Plans and Specifications will be available beginning Thursday, March 20, 2014.

All questions regarding this bid must be submitted in writing on or before 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April2, 2014 to Victor H. Chavez, Project Manager, via email: vchavez@hermosabch.org. It shall be the bidder’s responsibility to inquire for any addendums/updates to this Notice Inviting Bids prior to submitting their bid.

Plans and Specifications may be picked up at the office of the Director of Public Works/City Engineer at a cost of $30.00 per set; payment can be made at the Cashier’s Office by credit card, cash, or check.  Plans and specifications can be sent directly to the contractor if a Federal Express (or preferred carrier) account number, credit card information, and authorization to charge to the credit card is provided.  City Hall is closed Fridays.

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Parks, Recreation and Community Resources Advisory Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach shall hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, to consider the following:

1.      2014 Special Events, with an estimated attendance of over 500, including:

A.      Discovery Channels – Fin Fest          August 8-10, 2014

  1. Day at the Beach – HB Triathlon        October, 2014 (date TBD)
  2. West Coast Championship                September 19-21, 2014

SAID PUBLIC HEARING shall be held at 7:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.

ANY AND ALL PERSONS interested are invited to participate and speak at this hearing at the above time and place.  All written comments will be accepted prior to or at the scheduled time on the agenda for the matter.  Please submit your written comments to the City of Hermosa Beach Community Center, Community Resources Department, 710 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach, CA  90254.

IF YOU CHALLENGE the above matter(s) in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Community Resources Department, at, or prior to, the public hearing.
