Beach Cities Sports: Beach tennis, triathlon, volleyball and more

Water Polo: After being named the CIF Division 3 Player of the Year and a 1st team All-American as a senior at Mira Costa High School, Jordan Raney has been selected as one of 13 players to represent the U.S. at the FINA Youth World Championships in Madrid, Spain Aug. 25-31. Volleyball: Evolution Volleyball Club will be holding its Volleyball Skills Camp for boys Monday through Thursday, Aug. 18-21 at Redondo Union High School. Led by Sea Hawk boys head coach and 2014 Daily Breeze Coach of the Year Duncan Avery, the camp will train boys in middle school from 3-5 p.m. and boys in high school from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $150. for more information, visit evolutionvbclub.com.

 

The CBVA/ROX Youth Tour will hold its eighth of 10 stops on Saturday, Aug. 9 in Hermosa Beach. For more information, contact Chris Brown, 310-766-7234. One Wednesday, Aug. 13, the Rosecrans Youth Tournament featuring boys 12, 14 and girls 12, 14, 16 divisions will be held at Rosecrans Ave. in Manhattan Beach. The CBVA will be holding tournaments on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9-10 at Rosecrans Avenue in Manhattan Beach. The Icaza Construction Men’s Open 4’s ($65/team) and Co-ed B tournament ($45/team) will take place Saturday followed by a Men’s A ($45/team) tournament on Sunday. Also on Sunday at Marine Street in Manhattan Beach, Men’s and Women’s Open ($65/team) competition will be held. To register, visit cbva.com.

Triathlon: Registration is open for the Day at the Beach Triathlon to be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 in Hermosa Beach. The event includes a ¼ mile ocean swim, 10 mile bike and 3 mile run. A 1-hour swim clinic will be offered on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 8 a.m. at 10th Street in Hermosa Beach. Fees are $115 (individual) and $180 (relay). Add $10 after Aug. 31.
