For the best neighborhood shopping center, Riviera Village wins by a landslide because of its local flavor and variety.

“It has so much to offer,” said Alicia Nay, owner of consignment shop Return Engagement. “There’s something for every budget, and all of the businesses are owned by individuals.”

The shopping area, located in South Redondo spans six blocks near the water and has restaurants, salons, shops, and even a couple of yoga studios overlooking the village. Not only does it host shops and cafes for every budget, it even has a farmers market on Catalina Ave and Avenue I every Friday from 3-7 p.m. – with an amazing macaroon stand.

“The restaurants are pretty amazing and they have a good night life,” Brianna Hunter from Palos Verdes said.

Zoe Horton who lives in the area comes to the Redondo Brewery almost every Friday with her friends. “There are also lots of nice specialty places. The shops are just great.”

Riviera Village: Catalina Avenue and neighboring streets, Redondo Beach.

Runner up: Pier Plaza, Hermosa Beach
