For South Bay kids from 1 year to 8 years old, a birthday celebration at My Gym could be the best gift. With events ranging from zip line, bubble storm, circus tent adventures to cannon rides, puppet shows and sing-a-longs, the entire facility is transformed into a party palace for the birthday child and his or her friends. “We sing songs, we do puppet shows — it’s very hands on,” owner Alex Henao said. “It’s all non-stop.” My Gym has two locations — Redondo Beach since 2000 and Manhattan Beach since 2006 — and offers three packages for birthday parties depending on size and preference. Each party is tailored specifically for the star child, and themes, including Star Wars and Frozen, are not uncommon.
