To get the full report, check out showmethehomies.com. Keith Oshiro, author/reporter/lifestyle advocate of showmethehomies.com, is fully documenting the current movement of skateboarders in the South Bay area with a heavy concentration in the Torrance area.

Torrance is rich in skateboarding history with many classic skateboard magazine spreads shot at the area’s local schools, parks, and skate parks. The industry runs deep with the  Girl/Chocolate Skateboards headquarters located near Torrance Memorial and Vanguard Surf and Skate Shop in South Torrance.  When you fully explore Oshiro’s work, it’s easy to see that he does it for the passion and lifestyle with a youthful honest writing approach that only happens when someone is a member of the scene being documented.

Swag, Raffles, DJing Beats, yummies provided by Chronic Tacos, and Professional Skaters filling the autograph hunters’ appetite supplemented the hot action out on the impromptu Skate Park in the Vanguard parking lot.

Event winner, Mason Silva, of Spyder Surf Shop about to pull a very difficult hardflip. Bottom and Top pictures.

The Finalists: Money Mike (Transitions), Jack Mcnulty (Vanguard), Caedyn Curto (E.T. Surf), Mason Silva (Spyder), JJ (South Bay Skates), Royal Henry (Core).

In a close contest that was decided by a sudden death,  three minute, trick-by-trick skate off tie-breaker between Mason Silva from Spyder and Steven Swanson from Vanguard, Silva pulled the most tricks and the victory for Spyder.
