Alleged sex offender arrested in Redondo Beach

Hugo Gonzalez, 27, was arrested by Redondo Beach Police Detectives on April 9 after an investigation into Gonzalez having sex with a minor, the RBPD announced today.
Gonzalez, who lives in Harbor City, is accused of using the website “meetme.com” to lure minors under a false name and age. He allegedly arranged a meeting with two minors, both fifteen year old girls, in person, provided them alcohol and had sex with one of them. He is being charged with seven felony counts and two misdemeanors.
In 2011, Gonzalez was convicted in federal court of having sex with a fourteen year old minor he met on MySpace. He was charged with using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity and was registered as a sex offender.
Gonzalez is being held on $245,000 bail in Los Angeles County Jail awaiting his preliminary trial.
