Phones down

The City of Redondo Beach phone system will be upgraded on Wednesday, Aug. 28 between 6 and 11 p.m. All city extensions will be out of service during the outage window. If you need to contact Police or Fire for a non-emergency issue, call (310) 379-5411.

The city’s 911dispatch center will not be affected by the service outage and will remain fully operational.

Expanded hours

From Sept. 3, the Redondo Beach North Branch Library will be open on Tuesdays from 12 to 8 p.m. To celebrate the library’s expanded open hours, Redondo Beach residents can stop by for refreshments from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 3.

“The North Branch Library has been an integral part of the Redondo Beach community since 1949,” Mayor Steve Aspel said. “The new North Branch Library, which re-opened in 2010, is illustrative of the city’s commitment to both public library services and to the further development of the Artesia Corridor. We are pleased that we can now expand library hours to five days per week and welcome you to visit soon and often.”

The North Branch Library is located at 2000 Artesia Blvd.
