Bob and Anne Morris, 38-year residents of Palos Verdes, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in early August by sharing a joyful family reunion with their children and grandchildren on Coronado Island in San Diego.

Bob was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in a family of four boys. He and his family later moved to Minneapolis where he was educated at the Blake School. At Dartmouth College, he earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature. During this time he met his future wife, Anne.

After college he served in the Reserve and Airborne divisions of the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of captain. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree at Northwestern University in Chicago while working for Honeywell in its computer division.

In 1972 Bob and Anne moved to the Los Angeles area and purchased a home in Lunada Bay, where they raised their two children Catherine Anne and Robert William.

Bob entered the commercial real estate business with Coldwell Banker and continues today as a broker with NAI Capital. He has been active in the AIR and SIOR professional real estate organizations throughout his career. He and Anne are longtime members of the Neighborhood Church.

Anne was born in New York City and grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut.  She was educated at Greenwich Country Day School, Abbot Academy and Bradford College, majoring in Art History and Language. She later completed a post-graduate degree at California State University, Long Beach in Art History and Museum Studies.

Anne has been an active volunteer with the New York, Chicago and Minneapolis Junior Leagues, National Charity League, the Palos Verdes Art Center and the Neighborhood Church. She served as exhibitions director for the Palos Verdes Art Center during the 1990s, and after retiring from that position, joined The Circle where she continues today as a volunteer fundraiser.

Bob and Anne were married at Christ Episcopal Church in Greenwich, Connecticut on Sept. 10, 1960. During their 50 years of marriage they have enjoyed playing tennis, skiing, hiking, sailing, kayaking, bicycling and paddle tennis together. Today their favorite activities are travel, and trying to keep up with their five grandchildren. PEN
