Walking Moai events begin for beach cities residents at all 13 elementary schools Monday, April 25, and Tuesday, April 26! Moai, which means meeting for a common purpose, originated in Okinawa, Japan, as a way for villagers to support each other emotionally in times of need. The Vitality City initiative hopes to expand the traditional definition of Moai to walking, volunteering or simply being active while making new friends, and is one of the cornerstone programs that will help to transform the Beach Cities into a Vitality City.
We need your help organizing and leading those teams. If you volunteer, you’ll get a free pedometer and a snazzy new Vitality City t-shirt.
Congratulations to the following companies who signed up to be Vitality Employers this week! We applaud all of you for taking advantage of the free tools and resources that are available free of charge as part of the Healthways |Blue Zones Vitality City™ initiative presented by the Beach Cities Health District.
