Kris Paronto, a former Army Ranger from 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and current private security contractor, served in the United States military for more than 18 years. In his true-life book, 13 Hours, Paronto chronicles his experiences as part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the terrorist attacks of the U.S. State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012.
