Get in the Zen of Swimming – Morning workout
Get in the Zen of Swimming
You’re already in the zen of yoga; supplement with great aerobic exercise in the calming medium of the water.
Regular benefits of yoga include an increased sense of calm, flexibility, greater muscular strength and better posture. Swimming complements these with cardiovascular and pulmonary improvements, and also enhances the meditative calm of yoga by taking place in water. Swimming isn’t just beneficial for the body, but also calming and restorative for the mind. The water not only takes a lot of stress off the joints, but also blocks external sounds and distractions while soothing and caressing the body.
These workouts will run from 6 to 7 a.m. Mon-Fri, April 10-21, at the Urho Saari Swim Stadium, 219 W. Mariposa Ave. El Segundo, CA 90245.
Not a morning person? Join us in the evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Mon. and Wed. April 10, 12, 17, 19 at Redondo Union High School, 1 Seahawk Way.
