The El Camino College Photography Department will present “Water,” a student photography exhibit in the lobby of the Schauerman Library through May 31.

More than 50 photographs will be on display, showcasing a wide variety of work in film and digital images, ranging from beginning through advanced levels. Subject matter includes portraiture, landscapes, still life images, and abstracts – all illuminating and exploring the theme of water.

The show is designed to give students the chance to participate in an exhibition, offering a real-world experience that will be beneficial to their careers. Students also have the opportunity to interact with the community by sharing their hard work and talent with students, faculty and staff.

In other photography program news, the following students had images earn Finalist Honors in the Photographer’s Forum Best of College Photography international competition: Jackie Romano, Claire Nitchman, Sam Weiss, Katia Sarroca and Osvaldo Deras.

In addition, the work of several El Camino College photography students was recently chosen for publication in this year’s edition of the “Myriad,” the college’s student-run literary journal: Katia Sarroca, Emmanuel Peralta, Gaius Roberts, Jackie Romano, Sheri Berke, Leann McElhaney, Clarence Davis and Miyung Kim.
