Official publication of the cities of Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach.
Filing Fee: $26 Personal Check OR Business Check ONLY (Driver’s License & Expiration Number written at top of check) payable to LA County Recorder for 1 DBA name and 1 registered owner, corporation or LLC. Add $5 for each additional name or registrant/s. If you are incorporated or an LLC please submit a copy of your articles along with the application. Unchanged DBA renewal fees are $26 and require no publication.
Publishing Fee: $65 payable to Easy Reader for 1 to 3 DBA names and up to 3 registrants. Add $5 for each additional DBA and/or registrant thereafter. We accept cash, check, money order, or credit card.
Renewals are mailed to LA County Recorders office. We do not process renewals.
Abandonments or Withdrawal of Partnerships are $26 to file and must be published for four weeks ($65).

Our courier submits applications on Tuesdays to the L.A. County Recorder located at LAX District Office. Typically, the forms are returned the next week, 7 days later. We will mail your filed & registered application to you, or you can pick it up at our offices. The filed application, bearing the County seal and a filing number and date, is the document that the banks require to open a business account. Upon completion of the required 4-week legal publishing we then submit that paperwork to the County for adjudication. The County then returns approval of the legal requirements to us, and we mail it to you. LA County’s turn-around time varies and can take up to a month and a half to complete with final set of paperwork which is your proof of publication.
To register as a Corporation or LLC: copies of your articles must be submitted along with the DBA application. Sign only as the corporation or company on the lower right side of the application. The lower left is for individuals or partners. (See the reverse side of the application for more information.)
You can file your own DBA at the County Recorder offices, 12400 E Imperial Highway, 1st floor, Norwalk, 90650 or LAX District Office, 11701 S. La Cienega Blvd., 6th Floor, LA, 90045. (310) 727-6142. Applications are also on the LA County Recorder website, http://www.lavote.net/clerk/business_name.htm.
The DBA must then be published. All DBA’s must be renewed within 5 years, every 5 years ($26). If your DBA has not expired, and there are no changes, you needn’t republish. Renewals that do not require publications should be mailed directly to the LA County Recorders office in Norwalk.
Post Office Boxes are not acceptable on their own. The physical address must be included.
Write out entire city address. No abbreviations are allowed.
