Students at Jefferson Elementary invited local servicemen to join them for their morning running club to mark Veteran’s Day on Nov. 10. The club meets everyday at 7:55 a.m and students run a track for points and fitness. So far this year the students have run more than 6,000 miles.

This week’s football game between Mira Costa and Redondo Union was kicked off at lunch on Wednesday as Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach both spent the day dressed up as nerds to poke fun at one another.
Parents and children spun the prize wheel to win prizes from AdventurePlex, Whole Foods and the LiveWell Kids program at the Food Fun Fest. AdventurePlex also brought its 35-foot inflatable obstacle course to the event and other vendors provided healthy foods for children to sample.
