Tai-Chi Ch’uan
A winter Tai-Chi Ch’uan class series is being held at the El Segundo Joslyn Center. Classes are held Thursdays, beginning today. All classes are available for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Tai Chi is a slow, graceful and very relaxing exercise. Classes meet 12:15-1:15 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. $40 for eight weeks. 339 Sheldon Street. 524-2705.

Tonight is the last night for the "3rd Thursday" at the Riviera Village in South Redondo Beach. There is food, fun and fabulous shopping. Shops open until 8 p.m.

Volunteers Needed
Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood needs South Bay volunteers to teach sexual education to high school teens. Training sessions are Jan. 11, 12, 17 and 19 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. All four sessions must be attended to be a speaker. Call 395-0098 for more information.

Bereavement support groups
The holidays can be a difficult time for those dealing with the loss of a loved one. The Gathering Place, A Center for Loss and Life Transition, is a partnership between Beach Cities Health District and TrinityCare Hospice and offers support groups including Loss of Spouse/Partner, Loss of Parent, Loss of Child, Teenage Grief, General Bereavement, Teens with Cancer, I Count Too for students with a family member with a life threatening illness), and Kids Can (8-week bereavement group for children 4-12). The Gathering Place is located at the Beach Cities Health Center, 514 N. Prospect Ave., Redondo Beach. For more information, call 374—6323.
