Santa's ride
It's that time again for "Santa's Ride" through the city of Redondo Beach. The Redondo Beach Police and Fire Associations are proud to present Santa to their residents. Santa will ride in his custom sleigh and hand out treats to those who have been good this year. The event continues through Dec. 18. Sugarplum tree
Help make a foster child's dream come true. The Sandpipers is sponsoring the 26th annual Sugarplum Tree through Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Manhattan Village Mall, from 10 a.m-8 p.m. daily. The tree is decorated with "wish ornaments" that have the name of a foster child with their gift wish for the holiday. Shoppers choose one or more ornaments and purchase the gift(s) for the children. 374-1748.
Angel tree
Visit the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary "Angel Tree" at the South Bay Galleria. Names of underprivileged or needy children are placed on the tree along with their choice of Christmas gift. The gifts are delivered by the Salvation Army with gift certificates for a Christmas turkey dinner to the families before Christmas. The program continues through Sunday, Dec. 23 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. 318-2827.

Cheer for children
Cheer for Children has scheduled a holiday party today for handicapped children and donations of remote control toys are appreciated. Hospitalized children will be given a party at a local Torrance hospital on Saturday, Dec. 22. Volunteers are needed to help set up and decorate. A toy wrapping party is being held at First United Methodist Church in S. Redondo Beach on Thurs. Dec. 20 from 3-8 p.m. There is a need for use of a van or truck to help load and unload donations. 212-5009.
"The Other Inn"
Oceanside Christian Fellowship is presenting an original play, "The Other Inn," written by Rebekah Hellerman. The creative play includes a cast of over 30 children and is an exciting event for the Christmas season. Christmas concerts
The Torrance Civic Chorale is presenting two fall concerts, tonight and tomorrow, Sat. Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. in the James R. Armstrong Theatre in Torrance. This year's concert, "It's Christmas Time," features the 80 voice chorale, a 22-piece orchestra. $10. For reservations call 781-7171.

Breakfast with Santa
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes' REACH program is sponsoring "Breakfast with Santa" at Hesse Park from 9-10:30 a.m. Children and adults can enjoy a delicious breakfast, sing holiday carols, and make festive, take-home crafts. $6 includes breakfast and craft supplies. There will be numerous chances for photos with Santa,.so bring your cameras. Flute carolers
Campus Concerts is featuring young flutists at the Rolling Hills Plaza today, Friday, Dec. 21 and Saturday, Dec. 22 from noon to 2 p.m. The students will perform holiday music at various sites throughout the plaza. The plaza is located at the corner of Crenshaw and PCH in Torrance. 326-5761.
The Nutcracker

Boat parade
King Harbor Yacht Club (KHYC) is presenting its 10th annual Christmas Boat Parade, with the theme "Salute to America's Heroes." Holiday Fireworks

Chanukah family festival
Chabad of Palos Verdes and the Peninsula Shopping Center are co-hosting the Chanukah Family Festival from 4-6 p.m. at the Peninsula Shopping Center, Hawthorne and Silver Spur Road.
